        PreS-Gr 2-A cheerful book will have young readers asking themselves if they have what it takes to catch Santa Claus. It's the night before Christmas, and Santa's on his way. The latest series installment is full of STEAM concepts, colorful illustrations, and plenty of ideas on how to catch Santa Claus. Elkerton's animated illustrations and Walstead's silly, catchy rhymes work together to portray the Christmas Eve chaos that ensues when Jolly Old Saint Nick is being chased. The kids try their best to catch Santa, with traps such as a Christmas flower offering, a suspiciously out-of-place book, and the tempting combination of a comfortable chair and a delicious snack. Readers who pay close attention to the pictures will see all of the mischief his trusty Elf sidekick gets into while Santa delivers presents. Although his reindeer and Elf may get caught in a trap or two, Santa's festive magic might prove to be too strong for the kids-not that they've ever let that stop them from trying!
