A friendly white feline that is capable of walking upright on long legs mimics the movements of spinning dreidels. The dreidels appear from one to eight, and Hoffman provides one-word descriptions for the dreidels and the cat. Two dreidels and cat “bounce” on a small trampoline; the cat and four dreidels “hop” in a game of hopscotch. The cat cuddles on a bed with one of seven dreidels (“rest”), while the other six sit on the bedroom floor. Finally, the cat and a friend “light” the eight menorah candles. Hoffman’s crayon-like art brings a playful presence to the pages. Ages 3–5.
