Her brother Alec, Earl of Rawdon, has joyously wed his true love, but Genevieve Stafford anticipates no such unabashed emotion on her wedding day. The icily beautiful aristocrat is to marry Lord Dursbury, and love is not part of the bargain. But when someone frames Genevieve in a cruel scheme, the scandal shatters her engagement and her respectability. So why has Sir Myles Thorwood gallantly offered to marry her? Handsome, flirtatious Myles is her opposite in many ways, yet he understands her the way no other man ever has. Trumping her expectations of a loveless marriage, Myles shows Genevieve just what it means to be man and wife . . . but are his attentions mere kindness or true devotion? Will their passion endure for more than a passing season?

When a cad assaults Genevieve Stafford and her fiancé jilts her for causing scandal, family friend Sir Myles Thorwood offers her marriage to save her from ruin. Genevieve reluctantly agrees, worrying that Myles may regret his choice, but Myles is determined to win over his new bride. Genevieve is the epitome of a proper Stafford woman, but being with Myles awakens her body and heart, and when it’s discovered that the assault was a setup, Genevieve is ready to throw propriety out the window. The final Legend of St. Dwynwen Regency romance (after A Summer Seduction) is filled with sensuality, intrigue, and Camp’s trademark romantic sparring. While the constant miscommunication between Myles and Genevieve wears, it doesn’t hinder the novel’s delightful readability.
